Oh M, I am sincerely sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. Will always remember the lively discussions and laughter in the upstairs coffee room! Last few years has been a difficult journey for you both, you were a trooper always at his side. When you’re ready, let’s have a coffee, or maybe even lunch with Diana. Take care

We were so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Although we haven't spent much time together over the last years, the one thing I do remember about Ed was his big smile and love of life. Condolences to you Muriel and your family.

Ed was a very, very cool guy and the world will be just that much emptier without him. He was a champion for wildlife and the outdoors and his mark on the study of wildlife in Alberta is significant. The day I spent with him working with rattle snakes is a highlight moment in my story. My thoughts are with Muriel and his family.

I am so sad to hear of Ed’s passing. I worked with Ed at the Brooks Wildlife Centre during the years of 1979 to 1987 and I will always remember Ed’s passion for wildlife. He was always willing to take time and try to teach me all about biology and he had all the patience in the world. I will always remember how kind he was and his smile. Hugs to Muriel and her family.

Ed was my younger brother. My fondest memories of him are from our years both at home. We had the best fights ever!! We drove the two fastest cars in Lethbridge — the police could not catch us! Great fun burning out of the A&W in our GTOs. His was always faster… but they couldn’t catch either of us.
Life is never fair — it was not designed to be. If it were, I would have gladly, without any hesitation, volunteered to take your place, even just to give you a few more hours, or days, or a few more years.
But it’s not in my power. Nor in yours even if you wanted it. Someone else deals the cards we are given. But He leaves it up to us how we play them.
Rest now, little brother. Your race is over. I hope to see you on the other side (PS: you were supposed to wait, but you never did as I told you…)
I love you!

I am very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Ed was a pleasure to share the Drumheller F&W office with. He was always keen to get involved with resource users to chat about all the different perceptions and beliefs they have. Ed's sense of humor and permanent smile always contributed to a great office environment. My condolences to the Hofman family as I know Ed's smile will be sorely missed.
