Obituary of Marjorie Mima Duff

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Mima Duff (nee Cruickshank) announce her passing on November 26, 2019, at the age of 97.

Mrs. Duff of Hanna, AB, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and held in the prayers of the community. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Russell Watson Duff; son, Norman Alexander Duff; parents, Alexander and Edith (nee Downing) Cruickshank; and brothers: William Edward, Robert Alexander and Norman Downing Cruickshank.

Marj is remembered fondly by her sister, Edith May Cruickshank; daughter, Edie May Liddell (nee Duff) and husband, Gary Liddell; grandchildren: Graham (Alena) Liddell, Heather Liddell, Caleigh (Jesse) Byers, Kyle Duff, Christina Duff, and their mother, Kathy (Steve) Clark; great grandchildren: Jordan Alexandra and Jace Andrew Byers; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Marj was born in 1922 and grew up in Ranfurly, AB, with her beloved siblings and horse, Pete. She married her dear Andy on August 1, 1950, and together they shared a beautiful life.

Marj will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

“But to see her was to love her, love but once and love forever.”

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at the First United Church in Hanna. Marj will be laid to rest in the Hanna Cemetery following the service. There will be a public viewing prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Hanna hospital for their compassionate care and genuine kindness during Marj’s last days.

In lieu of flowers, Marj requested that donations be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, or STARS Air Ambulance.
