Obituary of Karen Joy Barker

BARKER, Karen Joy (nee Bullion) – December 19, 1947 - July 16, 2019 - passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the age of 71. Karen was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Allen Barker, and her parents, Donald Edward Bullion and Kathleen May Bullion (nee Dowd).  She leaves to mourn her children, Sean (Lynette), D’Arcy, and Kathy (Frayne).   She was a very proud grandma to her 5 grandchildren, Carson (Chelsea) Donaldson, Duncan (Kodi Betts) Donaldson, Lauren (Ryan Doig) Barker, Shandi Barker, and Kendra Donaldson. She leaves one brother, Roy Bullion, and her sister, Gwen (Clarke) Snell.  She will also be missed by numerous brother and sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.  We wish to recognize the loving and attentive care she received from all of the staff at the Hanna Hospital. 

Karen’s Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 23^rd, 2019 at 2 pm at the First United Church, Hanna, AB. 

A private family interment will be held prior to the service. 

Donations to Karen’s memory are gratefully accepted to the Hanna Museum, the Hanna Ladies Auxiliary or the Hanna SPCA.
