Riding into the sunset, George Wilfred (Wilf) Evans passed away peacefully at South Campus Hospital in Calgary, Alberta the morning of April 17, 2019. Born in Morse, Saskatchewan, Wilf’s family soon moved to a ranch west of Richdale, Alberta. The last of this generation. Wilf is predeceased by: his father and mother John and Nellie; his six siblings: John, Edith, Phyllis, Lilian, Arthur and Gladys, and his niece Anona Evans. He is survived by his niece Susan Evans and her son Sebastian; nephew Peter Evans (Margaret) and their sons: Piers (Rebecca), Benjamin (Teri-Lynn) and Henry, and nephew Russ Evans (Patt) and their son Harry. Wilf was involved in agriculture throughout his life and, more than anything, he enjoyed sharing the bounty from his garden located east of Chestermere.

A celebration of Wilf's life will be held at the Prince of Peace Manor (East of Calgary) at 11:00am to 12:30 pm Sunday, April 28, 2019. Interment will follow later that afternoon 3:30pm at the Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, Alberta.  

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted in Wilf’s name, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alberta.
