Obituary of Hazel Lenora Schnurer

Hazel Schnurer passed away peacefully at age 83, after 28 years of building a home and supporting her community in Hanna, AB. She spent her days assisting with various charitable endeavors, local events and senior organizations. With a smile for all, her daily works and family were her pride and joy. A loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; Hazel, was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Alice O’Dell; brother, Milton O’Dell; husband, Joesph Schnurer; and grandchild, John Paul Schnurer. Hazel is survived by her son, Brian (Daphne) Schnurer; families: Jamie (Andrew) Straile, Danielle (Cody) Strang, Chelsea (Andrew) Montgomery, Bryant (Celeste) Schnurer; daughter Patti (Alf) Hieb; families: Jason Hieb, Kevin (Nicole) Hieb; son David (Laura) Schnurer; families Michael (Ashley) Schnurer, Ryan (Lauren) Schnurer, Miranda (Sean) Peterson; daughter Donna Landry; families: Amber Knauft, Deanna (Nolan) Groundwater; daughter Debbie Salik; families: Krista Salik, Aaron (Robyn) Salik, Courtney (Corey) Ward; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Walter (Carolyn) O’Dell, brother Gordon (Jacque) O’Dell, brother Howard (Lynette) O’Dell, sister Betty (Steve) Jarvas, brother Stanley O’Dell, sister-inlaw Gertrude O’Dell, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church on Monday February 26th, 11:00 A.M., followed by a luncheon at the Hanna Community Center.
