Obituary of Donald (Don) Arthur Osborne

Donald Arthur Osborne, beloved spouse of Brenda Roszell and wonderful father to Lindsey Osborne passed away at the Drumheller Medical Centre on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 75 years.

 

Don was born on December 15, 1949, in Toronto, York County to parents Donald and Anne Osborne. He lived most of his life in the Edmonton area and earned his Journeyman’s ticket as a mechanic. Over the years, he worked as a motor mechanic, sold trucks and built custom homes.

 

Some of his past times included playing “Old Timer’s” hockey and golf. Golfing was a real passion of his. Other passions of Don’s included outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping. He took part in many fishing trips. Including fishing in Lac La Ronge, in Northern Saskatchewan and participating in The Golden Walleye Classic in Slave Lake, Alberta.

 

Winters included travelling to the USA as snowbirds and camping in Louisiana, Texas and along the Gulf Coast. Don and Brenda enjoyed going to Maui every year to relax and spend some time at their timeshare.

 

Don loved his great-granddaughter Rosealynn and enjoyed the moments he was able to spend with her. He was also looking forward to meeting the newest arrival to the family...another great-granddaughter to be born this coming April.

 

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife of fourteen years, Brenda; mother Anne Osborne; daughter Lindsey Osborne; step-children: Chandra Spratt, Meghan Roszell; step-grandchildren: Caleb Spratt, Rachel Ann Jespersen, Micaiah Spratt, Joseph Spratt, Jacob Roszell, Taylor Roszell and Kael Roszell; and great-granddaughter Rosealynn Jespersen.

 

Don was predeceased by his father Don Osborne Sr; sister Shirley Osborne; brothers: Philip and David Osborne and son: Don Osborne Jr.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
