Sharon Nadine Lampitt

November 25, 1945 ~ December 10, 2024

Lived 79 years

Born in Miniota, Manitoba, Sharon moved with her family to Calgary in 1956 where she graduated from Viscount Bennett High School. In April 1965, she married the love of her life, Gary Lampitt. They welcomed their daughter Nadine in 1969, and son Dwayne in 1971.

In 1978, Sharon and Gary purchased a Yamaha and Polaris dealership in Carstairs. She later worked as the controller for Carstairs Ford. In their retirement,  Sharon and Gary spent many happy months snowbirding in Arizona.

Sharon was very active in the Carstairs community for 40 years. She volunteered tirelessly for many organizations and was a founding member of the Carstairs Heritage Festival. Sharon enjoyed bowling, curling, playing cards, music and camping with friends.  One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandsons, Dustin and Logan, and later her three great-grandchildren. 

Sharon was a force of nature, never being one to sit back and let things happen.  She was fun-loving and energetic, a real people-person.  

Sharon will be greatly missed by her beloved family: Husband of 59 years, Gary; daughter and son-in-law Nadine and William Vass; son Dwayne Lampitt; Grandsons Logan Vass (Terralyn) and Dustin Vass (Rychelle); her three great grandchildren Sienna, Parker and Aubree; her sister-in-law Jackie Leary; niece Heather McCulley (Cam) and their children Amy and Jake; nephew Scott and his children Hannah and Calder; brothers-in law Neil Lampitt (Sharon) and Brian Lampitt (Bev).  Sharon was predeceased by her parents Frank and Joan Leary; aunt and uncle Margaret and Arnold Walker; and big brother Barry Leary.

The family wishes to express gratitude to everyone who had a part in Sharon’s life.

at the Carstairs Legion 

from 12:30 - 3:30 pm.
