I'm so very sorry for the loss of your lovely wife and mother. She was such a big part of the community and touched so many lives, including mine, that I find it hard to imagine the town without her--Hanna is certainly a lesser place without her.

A true neighbour and friend of our whole family, Alva will be very much missed. I really don't know how the garden will survive without her constant touch. The whole community will miss a very caring beautiful lady who truly wanted the best for all.

Dr. Kaster, Jackie-Lynn, Dawna, Shannon, and Janice... my sincerest condolences on the passing of Alva. She was such an endearing, kind, and altruistic woman. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and community steward. She will be missed by so many in Hanna, her family & friends near and far. My most sincere and deepest heartfelt condolences to all of you . I have very fond memories growing up with the Kaster family . And even staying with Alva’s mom, Grandma Pearl at the farm ... and rocking in Granny Kaster’s chair . Alva spearheaded the decorating for our wedding and provided some of the flowers for my bouquet and the tables . I shall eternally have a very special spot in my heart for her as an important part and impact during my childhood. It takes a village to raise a child and she was an important pillar in my village ! Alva was the most thoughtful neighbor to us while we lived in Hanna, and she was such a loving caregiver to her mom. She always spoke so fondly of John and her girls. Although it has been a long time since we have seen Alva, we send our thoughts and prayers to her family during this difficult time.
