With sadness, we announce the passing of Stella Hart in Hanna, AB. We find comfort in knowing she loved a challenge and took pride in her accomplishments along the way.
Stella was born in Vegreville on August 10, 1931, and spent her childhood in Lavoy/Vegreville, AB. She has fond memories of carefree days with her 2 sisters, Lorraine (Stan), Jeannie (Doug), and brother Raymond (Mennah). Stella was a proud graduate of nursing from the University of Alberta. She met her husband, Bill Hart, in her final year of nursing at the U of A.
Her proud nursing accomplishments were teaching at the University and nursing during the polio epidemic. Stella also enjoyed these years, active in rural politics, participating in the senior’s choir and volunteering with the Hanna Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Stella asked that we give special thanks to the people in her life who passed to her the beliefs of hard work, dedication to democracy, and women’s equal rights.
Her 4 sons, Edward (Beth) (Darlene deceased), Dean (Verna), Michael (Laura) (Debbie deceased), Thomas, and daughter, Trish (Bruce), were truly her focus. Stella knew she was blessed to have 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
