Obituary of Edward (Ted/Ed) Marks

Edward Marks (Ted or Ed) was born on November 22nd1945, in High River, Alberta. He was a younger brother to Maureen and Robert. In 1950 the family moved to Youngstown where Ted took his schooling. Although a very bright young man school wasn't always his favorite place to be. He worked several years for Special Areas then moved on to the oil industry. Ted became a father in 1969 to Daun Annette. Belinda May arrived in the fall of 1970. In July of 1986, Ted's son Jared was born.

In 1974 he moved overseas with his family to pursue his career in the oil industry. He excelled at his job. He was one of those bosses that didn't expect you to do anything that he wouldn't do. He also didn't have room in his time schedule for slackers. His job took him to many countries drilling both on and offshore for different oil companies.

In later years he made his home in Pattaya, Thailand where he made many friends and enjoyed the warm weather. In 2020 he moved back to Canada and took up residence with his brother Henry where he helped with the farm work. Last year he moved into the Manor in Hanna where he resided till his passing.

Ed Marks leaves to mourn his daughters, Daun (Murray) Brown, their children Cody (Bobi) and Cole, Belinda Marks and son Jared (Nicole) Marks and their children Mason and Kinsley. Ted is also the first to leave the sibling circle; leaving behind: Maureen Juhlke, Bob (Clara) Marks, Lynn (Wade) McLeod, Judy (Conrad) Scoville, Susan McKeage and Henry Jackson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was predeceased by his father Maurice Marks, mother Jean Jackson, step-dad Tom Jackson and brothers-in-law: Bill Juhlke and Neil McKeage.

If desired donations in memory of Ed can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 3:30 p.m., at the Youngstown Community Centre.
