To John Jr, Lynn, Anna, Shirley Lee and your families'
It is bitter sweet for us to see the passing of Merna. She has gone to join her faithful Partner John and loving son David. When I would see Merna in the Long Term Care, sometimes she did not recognize me because of a different hair style and mask. Sometimes she missed my name when I said it, but all I had to say was, "Across the alkali patch and she would laugh and we would have a great time remembering old times, such as the many times she and John would turn up early in the morning with a pound of bacon and a dozen eggs and the four of us would have a great impromptu breakfast with the best visit, or the time she and John stopped by to see what stage their tractor was in that Art had been working on. I think they nearly swallowed their tongues when all they saw were pieces laid out on cardboard on the shop floor. At any rate, they often commented later that that tractor worked better than it had when it was new! So many wonderful memories bring smiles and a feeling of peace and joy. I am sure the feeling for all of you is the same. Please know we share your loss at this time.
