Obituary of Ron Daryl Banco

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronnie (Ron) Daryl Banco, surrounded by his family on June 15, 2022, in the Hanna Hospital at the age of 70.

Ron was born on August 10, 1951, at the Hanna Hospital to Albert and Florence Banco of Hanna, AB. He grew up on the family farm north of Hanna where he gained a passion for farming. Ron’s love for cows and horses was one he held onto for his entire life. As a young boy he would often go out and saddle up his horse, sometimes without anyone knowing, even during snowstorms. Ron took a job with an oil and gas company which lead him to St. Paul Alberta. This is where he found his lifelong partner and best friend Monique. Ron and Monique were married on July 9, 1977. They had 2 children Lisa in 1978 and Greg in 1980. In 1984, it was time to take the family back to the farm, where he ranched and continued to work for various oil and gas companies. In 1996, he turned all his attention to ranching.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his parents Albert and Florence, his wife Monique; and his children Lisa (Lorne) and Greg (Suneetha), his grandchildren: Amelia, Lukas, Hawken, Harrisen, Autumn, Addisen, and Aspen; sisters: Cheryl Banco and Audrey (Bill) Muskovitch; and many other special relatives.

We would like to thank everyone for the kind words, and thoughtfulness during this sorrowful time. Funeral services will be held on June 21, 2022, 1pm  at the Hanna Community Center.
