it is hard to put into words what Mrs Brinkman meant to me. such a dear family friend leaves a mark on a person's soul and Joyce is one of those people for me. I grew up summers on the farm with your family and consider all of you my sisters and brothers. gosh I was with Joyce in the garden when Elvis passed!! I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Joyce taught me what it meant to be on a farm. all of you did. you had patience with my "city girl" ways and you let me come back and invade your family. I can't tell you the mark it left on me. I always felt like I was welcome and Joyce's words stay in my ears. " there is always room at the table for one more" Her kind smile and warm energy helped to shape my young self into the adult I am. I think of our families together on your home farm often. a time far away but something every family should do. this is what is missing in the world and Joyce provided this for me. I feel that the world will be a little less warm without her but I know she will be with your dad and my grandparents. my family loved her, each and every one of us. I am just so grateful to have known her. I will thank her every day for giving me the knowledge that horses could do work, not just trot around a ring. that farming can be a kind and happy way of life. I make my living with horses to this day and her example of how to do the chores every day is something I rely on. love and blessings to all of you, especially dear Joyce
