I’m so very, very sorry to learn of Ellen’s passing. Always a giggle or a hug if needed (or a lecture if she thought my brother needed it! wink, wink Deb!) I haven’t seen any of you in absolute eons but know that I’m thinking of y’all & send you warmest hugs, much sympathy, & will always have a smile when I think of your mom.

My sincere condolences to Ellen’s family. She was a wonderful lady. I have lots of memories of working with Ellen when we were young at the Broadway cafe. How we called her mom momma bear. How her and jim met and fell in love. She will be missed by many as she was a busy lady in Hanna. May she Rest In Peace and join her love jim.

So many memories!! We can start north of Richdale where we were neighbors for many years. Although I never lived there I was always aware of the Harders and the great neighbours that they were. I knew Ellen’s Mom and Dad and what super warm human beings they were! I got to know Ellen on a more personal level when I worked with her at the Treasury Branch in Hanna (1969-70). She was always there to help and make you feel like it was ok, together we could do it. That time created a bond between Ellen and I. We had the long time family connection and now we had one of our own. She was always warm and caring about what you were doing and if it had been too long since I popped into see her, she let me know, where the heck was I and I was missed !! Lol I moved from Hanna in 1996, so our visits were less often.
I was fortunate to be in Hanna about a year ago and I went to visit Ellen. She was napping but you bet I woke her! We had a nice catch up visit and I’m so glad I went. Ellen was a rare gem on this earth and she will be missed. ❤️ I’m so glad she was a part of my life.
