Sending my most sincere condolences to Gord's family and friends. I knew Gordie from our youthful days back in Calgary Alberta 1970-1974. He was neighbors with Murray and Lorretta Sutherland who were my stepfather Phil's grandparents. Gord was adopted and I can't remember his parents names but I remember he had a younger brother Duane who must be approaching 60 himself. Gord, my younger brother Scott and myself would take off and smoke cigarettes and ice skate at the lagoon at Bowness Park. Happy days. A few years back I went searching for him on Facebook only to find out he had passed away much to my sadness. As I watched his tribute video today I am very glad Gord was so loved. He was a great guy and am glad to have known him. May you all find solace, peace and eternal salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

Gord always liked to help. Gord played a mean game of snooker in the 80's. He sounded mean with his deep voice but was always gentle and generous. He was a very good friend. My condolences to his family & friends. May you rest in peace Gord.

I knew Gord through his many roles at NorQuest College. He was an outstanding person who made others feel noticed, important, and special. I always found myself smiling after running into Gord... his gentle humour and calm presence had a way of sticking with me. Anyone who knew Gord is fortunate to have met him; he had an quiet, powerful impact on many lives. He has left a trail of peace, love, and hope behind him. My condolences to his family and many friends.

I met Gordon on season one of my podcast, Back to School Again. He was my guest and we talked about about his journey back to the classroom in mid-life. His honesty and authenticity in sharing not just his back to school story, but his life story, has stayed with me and I will often go back and listen to this episode because it's so moving. My deepest condolences to Gordon's family and friends.

I met Gord at NorQuest. He was the first to say, I'll help. He led by example, and I will miss the opportunity for our paths to cross again.

I was honoured to work with Gord and receive his friendship and wisdom over the past three years and his death is a great loss to many in the urban core communities of Edmonton. He was faithful in making opportunities to smudge available to many who were struggling and always have an encouraging word for people. The Creator will be enjoying his arrival.

Gord had a profound impact on so many people, including me. He shared his warmth with every student and NorQuester who crossed his path. And through his example of facing his personal challenges and succeeding - he inspired all of us to be more, do more, and never stop trying. Rest In Peace, dear Gord - secure in the knowledge that your legacy will live on.
