Obituary of Robert Bruce Miller

Robert Bruce Miller was born to Fred and Dorothy in Hanna, Alberta on December 11, 1932, and passed away in the Hanna Hospital on December 24, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Bruce’s passion through life was ranching. This passion led him to working as a ranch hand for several ranchers. Bruce and June met and married in Hanna, Alberta. They were married on August 27, 1965. Their pride and joy Clinton Bruce arrived in September 21, 1968. During this time, they lived at Sunnynook, and lived there until they purchased a farm at Scapa, Alberta in 1974. Life on the farm was busy doing chores which consisted of raising cows, pigs, horses, and chickens. Bruce, June and Clint farmed the land and raised cattle for many years. They then decided to pursue ranching without the farming, and Bruce eventually had his pride herd of 350 cows. On July 29, 1989, Clint married Vicki and two years later, on August 4, 1991, Bruce and June were blessed with their first Grand Daughter; Ashley Dawn. Four years later, on November 14, 1995, Nicole Leigh was born. Ashley and Nicole were Bruce’s pride and joy. Of course, one of the first things he taught the girls was to play crib and snare gophers. Perfecting these skills were important because beating Grandpa in a game of crib was not easy! Bruce enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and of course playing a game or two of crib. Bruce is survived by his wife June of 53 years, his son Clint and daughter-in-law Vicki, Grand Daughters Ashley (Joel) and Nicole (Boe), brothers Ross, and Gordon; sisters Joan, Marg, and Shirley, as well as many numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Fred and Dorothy, and siblings Ronnie, Jeanie, Billy, Jimmy, and Gary.
