Obituary of Joyce Eileen Bampton (nee Rosin)
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joyce Eileen Bampton, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) on March 14th at the age of 76.
Joyce will be forever remembered by her husband, Bob; her siblings: Geraldine, Mildred, Kathy, Larry, Mary Anne (Bill) and Thelma; sisters-in-law: Winnifred, Eleanor; brother-in-law Wayne; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Elsa; brothers: Walter Carl, Lawrence and Norman; sister Lavonne; brothers-in-law: Dave, Helmut and Dennis and sister-in-law Rosemary.
Joyce was born in Hanna Alberta and grew up on the family farm in the Hand Hills. She attended Elmer School and Hanna High School. After graduation, she moved to Brandon, Manitoba, where she took hairdressing and worked in that profession for a short while. In 1970 Joyce took Psychiatric Nursing at Brandon Mental Hospital School of Nursing.
Psychiatric nursing was her lifelong calling. She worked at Saskatoon Correctional Centre for many years and in 1981, she moved to Red Deer, Alberta to work at Red Deer Regional Hospital until her retirement.
In 2007 she married Robert Bampton, and they lived on an acreage near Red Deer. In the summer of 2022, they sold their acreage and moved to Barriere, B.C. to enjoy a milder climate. Joyce loved it there. She enjoyed the wildlife that visited the yard and taking up her love of gardening. Her flowers were her pride and joy. Joyce loved to travel. England to visit Bob's family, Europe and several trips to Hawaii.
We will all miss her joyful disposition and inspiring conversations at family gatherings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
